Why do we fund raise?
The Choir does a lot of performances to help other charities raise money. We also raise money for our own needs and expenses.
- We have to buy and replenish equipment to ensure we sound our best at any performance we give.
- We need to ensure we can cover our expenses such as our Musical Directors fees, travel expenses and crèche costs as required.
- We contribute to The Military Wives Choirs Foundation - Supporting the women who support our troops. This ensures our smaller choirs within the Foundation remain sustainable, enabling us to support of our friends around the world.
- We contribute to The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help which provides practical help and assistance to anyone who is currently serving or has ever served in the Armed Forces.
In short we love to sing and the camaraderie and support that this provides to us is invaluable. Without fundraising we would not be able to make such a valuable contribution to the sustainability of Yeovilton Military Wives Choir and other choirs around the world, as well as to the valuable work of other charities.
